Huge News! The Bloomingdale Trail will open it's first ground level park (the ground level parks are the access points to the elevated trail) at Spaulding and Albany in June. Engineers have also begun the process of surveying the now defunct train line for future construction. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to stay up to date as this exciting plan begins to progress!
If you are not familiar with the project here is some info from their website:
Imagine a 3-mile-long elevated linear park running through the heart of Chicago, connecting neighborhoods, the river, and our great park system. Built from a former rail line, the Bloomingdale Trail will make us healthier, get us to school and work faster, and provide us with great chances to play and mingle. Join Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail today and help us realize this vision, for Chicago's Next Great Park!
