Opening Thursday March 3rd 6-9PMThursday March 3rd, through Friday April 1st, 2011 CONTACT: An Exhibit of 19th Century Photographic Processes
CONTACT is a collection of photographs created by students from Columbia College Chicago’s Nineteenth Century Photographic Processes Class. Encompassing an array of subject matter, the images were all created using vintage photographic printing methods.
Curated by faculty member April Wilkins, this exhibit will be a rare chance to learn about the history of photography through these rarely seen printing techniques. Using one of three historical photographic processes, each student individually contact printed their images as salt, albumen, or platinum/palladium prints. In addition to the work, there will also be a presentation of educational materials and an exhibit of some of the unusual items used to make these prints. We here at LivingRoom can’t wait to check it all out!
